SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH 
September is "National Preparedness Month," which provides residents with a month-long opportunity to learn about preparing their homes, as well as protecting their families, from unforeseen emergencies.

ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL AND 5K TO BENEFIT CENTER RESIDENTS
Join the DuPage  Convalescent Center for their 43rd Annual Fall Festival, on Saturday, September 18th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., as they celebrate 122 years of service to DuPage County. 

COUNTY APPROVES NEW ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION PROGRAM
In an effort to achieve code compliance in a more efficient and cost effective manner, and to help improve the quality of life for property owners and their adjacent neighbors, the DuPage County Board approved a new Administrative Adjudication Program (AAP).

COUNTY BOARD TO HOLD THREE PUBLIC HEARINGS ON BUDGET
The DuPage County Board will be hosting three public hearings on the coming Fiscal Year 2011 budget during the month of September.  Residents are encouraged to attend these open forums and engage in the construction of the budget, as well as speak out about which issues are most important to them.

Schillerstrom proposes $70 million bond plan for infrastructure
Calling current fiscal conditions just right, the head of the DuPage County Board has pitched the idea of financing nearly $70 million worth of capital improvements using federal stimulus funds.

Citing low interest rates and a federal program that partially covers interest costs, DuPage County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom unveiled a proposal Wednesday to borrow $70 million to pay for 22 capital improvement projects.
